Cody Peryea and Hunter Favreau

My name is Cody Peryea, I am currently 20 years old and live in Northern New York. At this time I attend SUNY Plattsburgh majoring in Early Childhood Education and am a part of the baseball and fishing team. My father introduced me into fishing at a very early age where we would travel miles and miles to roadside streams catching brook trout. This was when I realized I truly loved fishing. For the last 14 years of my life I cannot imagine the amount of hours he and I have put on the water from when the ice melts at the end of March to the blazing hot days of August catching perch, sunfish and crappie along with so many other game fish. However,  a few summers ago when the panfish went into deeper waters I started to fish for bass. I can say there were many days I was unsuccessful because I never had targeted bass in my life. I was fortunate enough to talk with local anglers on Lake Champlain to pick up tricks and locations to search for bass in the summer. At the beginning of my freshman year of college my cousin Hunter and I started fishing together. I realized he was as passionate and serious about fishing as myself. All winter long we planned and talked about our goals of fishing for the next season. We ended up joining a club and entering a few small pickup tournaments where I thought for the first time, fishing competitively, we did very well. The next step for us was becoming a part of a team that we could count on and help us with our success for next season. I knew when I talked to Joey the first time that he was the guy that would fill that role! I cannot thank him enough for allowing us to fish for his team!

My name is Hunter Favreau, and I am from the far northeast corner of New York. The outdoors and all of the amazing things it has to offer have always been a part of my life. The area I've grown up in, with the Adirondack Park, Lake Champlain and all of the other natural bodies of water is truly a sportsman's paradise. From wading creeks in your tennis shoes, to hauling in the hogs out deep, fishing is a lifelong sport and passion that resonates with us all. I'm glad to have found in my cousin Cody, a friend and partner who’s love and dedication to fishing is of the same intensity. I am an angler that enjoys fishing clear natural lakes for all of the northern freshwater species; with the bronze-back, brownie, smalljaw, golden muscle.. the smallmouth being the favorite. I primarily fish Lake Champlain, the St. Lawrence River and the surrounding rivers/creeks. With that said, some critical techniques include the ned-rig and tube. Both finesse applications pair beautifully with the Flatlands Custom weedless ned heads and tube jigs. Currently we fish three local tournament trails, and I know those have definitely helped to tip the scales in our favor.
